Meet the Woman Behind Sugar & Soul

Hi, I’m Mariah Matthews, owner and creative force behind Sugar & Soul Bakery LLC.

My love for food and baking goes far beyond a hobby. I’m a professionally trained pastry chef and graduate of The Art Institute of Philadelphia, with more than 15 years of experience in baking, pastry, and creating food that brings people together.

Sugar & Soul was created from my love of combining beautiful desserts, comforting food, and genuine hospitality. Whether I’m designing a custom cake, preparing desserts for a special celebration, or serving up one of my soulful meals, I believe food should do more than taste good—it should feel like something.

For me, every order is personal. I put the same care, attention to detail, and love into my customers’ celebrations that I would want someone to put into my own family’s special moments.
